George Bernard Shaw (1856-1950):

Irish dramatist, literary critic, a socialist spokesman, and a leading figure in the 20th century theater. Shaw was a freethinker, defender of women's rights, and advocate of equality of income. In 1925 he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1925. Shaw accepted the honour but refused the money.

He wrote plays "Arms and the Man" 1894, "Caesar and Cleopatra" 1901, "Man and Superman" 1905, "Major Barbara" 1905, "Pygmalion" 1913, "Saint Joan" 1923.
